You Don’t Need National Health Care!

What you need and what President Obama is really proposing is illness care insurance. It is the money to help cover the costs you experience when you or a loved one becomes sick or ill. People have lost their homes, families breakup and people avoid getting the treatment they require, do to the costs of care and treatments. Everyone knows how crippling the costs can be to treat illness & treating illness is like trying to respond to the needs of a community after the levies have been breached. The levies need to be kept strong, we need to keep our bodies strong to stay healthy, this is a lot more efficient than trying to clean up the mess after the event. The only reason to not keep them strong is if you want to cause an event, in the case of health (illness) care the event would be to want people to be sick. We have not been able cure illness and I doubt we ever will but there is a lot that we can avoid and manage it, if we take care of our bodies.
Everyone needs to have a type of medical coverage, if we don’t have some form of medical insurance 80 or 90% of us would be hard pressed to cover the expenses of a major illness or one that requires long term care such as MS and Parkinson’s. Personally, I would have to sell my house and there would be no way my children could even think of going to college or university. So what are the issues that must be address? One is accessibility, everyone most be covered, no one should ever be denied care or insurance. Who will provide the insurance, public or private companies or a combination of both? The fee schedules that the care providers & insurance companies use must be developed, so that the patients have the coverage that they need and don’t end up paying exorbitant amounts out of pocket. Will the insurance company pay 80, 90 or 100% of the expenses? How will it be determined how much the insurance should cost? Should it be the same cost for everyone or should it be based on how healthy your life style is? IE. should people that smoke or people that are over weight have higher premiums? All of these issues need to be considered but they don’t have to all be answered now. We need to put in place a plan that is dynamic, that can grow, change and develop through time to meet our needs as the issues change. Right now the issues are affordability and accessibility. The need is for a plan that focuses on patient out comes not political, insurance, doctor or hospital outcomes, though all of this factors need to be healthy to achieve good patient out comes.
My hope is that you never need to use Health Care Insurance but if you or your loved ones are ever ill I hope you have the coverage you need and deserve. Everyone must take responsibility for their real health care. Do the things you can to enhance your life and well being and the lives of the people you know. We can take control over what and how much we eat, how and when we exercise, the environment and the water supply. By taking control of our health care we can reduce the amount of illness care we will require. Take care of your self. You are in charge of your real health care. We are on your side.
Why Do People Eat to Much?
Simple, because they are hungry! This is the wrong question. What we should be asking is why are people so hungry? Is it because the food tastes good? Most of the stuff that makes us over eat and fat is greasy and gross. So why is it we want more after we eat it? It is because it is acting like a drug and making us more hungry. It is the effect that happens with coffee, pop and alcohol, these liquids dehydrate us causing us to become more thirsty, there for we will drink more of them. What we need to do is drink water when we are thirsty and for every cup of coffee, pop or alcohol we consume have a cup of water. This will help keep us hydrated and cut down on the hangovers and headaches. The same thing is happening with our food. You can eat and eat and eat and eat but if you don’t get the vitamins and nutrients your body is craving you will never stop being hungry. It is the food that is not fulfilling the needs of our bodies and it all started about 100 years ago when we began to eat packaged foods. A 100 years ago almost no one was fat & the ones that were usually had a disease or illness. Back then if you wanted to see someone fat you had to go to the circus or freak show, now overweight people are on every street in every town. If we keep going the way we are going in another 100 years you may have to go to a freak show to see thin people. Think I am wrong, that liquids don’t make you thirsty and food doesn’t make you hungry. Watch the video and see what the doctors say. You can eat as much as you want it just has to be the right food, real food. Alzhiemers, Exercise & the Mediterranean Diet
Columbia University Medical Center study, published in JAMA, found that there is a huge reduction in the risk of Alzheimer’s in participants that exercised and followed a Mediterranean diet. The risk was reduced when the participants only did exercise or only followed the diet but the most amazing results were when exercise and the Mediterranean diet were combined. The study was conducted by Dr. Scarmeas and colleagues.
The study found that those subjects who were very physically active had a 33 percent risk reduction of Alzheimer’s; those who adhered more strongly to a Mediterranean-type diet had a 40 percent risk reduction. In addition, Dr. Scarmeas and his colleagues found that there was a gradual decreasing risk for Alzheimer’s in study participants who were reporting that they were both exercising a lot and following a diet closer to the Mediterranean-type: those subjects had a 60 percent reduction in their risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease.
“So it seemed that the more that they were doing in terms of both diet and exercise, the lower was their risk for the disease,” said Dr. Scarmeas.
This is one more benefit of a Mediterranean diet and exercise to add to the list of proven benefits that included cardiovascular health, improved brain function, weight control & loss and lower risk of diabetes. read more…
